Pink Nightie
In a recent YouTube video, Joseph Sciambra and Fr. John Strickland held an interesting review of Western art, exploring the underlying theology and anthropology.

I never really paid much attention to just how weird Western religious art is. I knew some of the works were odd and I gravitated years towards Eastern icons. It may be that my inner voice was saying "there's something wrong go over there!"
Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.
— Genesis 2:7
Fr. Strickland's criticism of the artist's decision to show the Father creating Adam is salient, but I think the Genesis quote here covers Michelangelo's use case.
God the Father in a pink nightie in the Pope's private chapel... Anyway, this is worth a watch.
